“Since my daughter was stillborn, I’ve become very vocal about the topic. I’ve had people reach out to me and ask if I can speak with someone who experienced something similar.

“At first, I was tentative to do it because it seemed like kind of a hush-hush type of subject. But for mothers with kids who have passed away, the goal is to keep the child’s memory alive. So I decided that since my daughter can’t be here, then I’m going to talk about her and our situation to try to help other people.

“We were at the cemetery about a month ago, and there was a lady whose son was maybe two months old when he died. We were there for three hours talking with them. My fiancé was talking to the father and I was talking to the mother, letting them know it’s going to be OK.

“We told them that there may be times where you don’t brush your teeth and just sit on the couch for days, and that’s OK. The first few months especially, it’s very intense for everyone involved. But you will come through on the other side. We’ve been there and done it.”
