Communication key with autistic daughter

Mom holds youngest daughter

“I was going to school to be in nursing, but that got put on hold.”

“We have three little girls, ages 7, 4 and 2. This is our youngest. Our oldest is autistic. She’s delayed in speech, so we really have to work with her a lot.

“Our hope is that she’s able to communicate better, so we can understand her wants and needs. It takes a lot of patience and time, but she’s coming along. Slowly but surely, we’re seeing progress.

“We just try to keep the faith and take things day by day. It’s very hard, but we’re doing our best.”
