Proud of breaking through in automotive field
“One of my jobs was working as the automotive department manager at Sears. In fact, in 1973, I was the first female to work at Sears on Texas Avenue as an associate in that department.
“There were lots of tears at first because male customers had a difficult time accepting a female in what was considered men’s territory. After they saw that I knew what I was doing, it got much better.”
