Christmas season on the mind all year long
While she no longer runs a business, she stays busy with her church and with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
“After my kids got out of school, I opened an all-year-round Christmas store called Christmas Treasures. I had a lot of collectibles, and people would come in and buy a whole collection of them. We put them on layaway, and they would pay for it all year long.
“That kept me going for 20 years before I closed it down about 15 years ago. Now it seems like stores bring out all their Christmas things earlier every year. It’s big business. People love that stuff.”
