Whatever happened to cursive writing?
“I’m a retired school teacher. I taught 26 years, second and third grades, and have been working at our church’s child center with school-age children for another 10 years.”
What’s one of the biggest changes you’ve seen in schools?
“It bothers me that they’re no longer teaching cursive writing in most schools. Parents will ask their child to write their name, and they’re appalled that the child prints it. They’ve never been taught to write in cursive. It’s one example of why today’s children find it really hard to relate to what their parents learned.”
