College experience brings her family closer
She thought she knew how to study and manage her time before college’s wake-up call.
“High school was so easy for me. I thought I knew how to study and manage my time and school work. Then I started college and it was completely different. It was a lot harder. Now I look back and think, I should have been more prepared.
“But somehow I got through it. Support from my family helped a lot. I had to completely cut off my social life to finish, so my family was my only real social life.
“Actually, it worked out better for me because through it all, I got closer to them. Not only did I earn my degree, I also learned through college just how important my family was to me.”
