He gets joy from watching others eat his creations
Strickland Landry lived in New Orleans, but he had to relocate following Hurricane Katrina.
“I was a fat kid who liked to eat, so I spent a lot of time in grandma’s kitchen. I guess it was natural that I ended up being a chef.
“It may seem kind of creepy, but I like to stand in the kitchen and look out at people eating the food I’ve prepared. Just from their facial expressions, I can usually tell if they enjoy my food or not. The gratitude I get from people, their happiness eating something I made, man, it’s awesome.”
