‘I’d like to create something that helps the world’

“I’m working toward an engineering degree. I’m not really sure what I’m going to do with it yet, but I know I don’t want to go into industry.
“I realize this may seem pretty ambitious, but I’d be really content toward the end of my life if I could look back and know that I had made a discovery or invented something that advanced humanity. Big picture, I’d like to create something that helps the world.”
