Substance abuse counselor leads by example
“I was young and foolish and did what a lot of people do. Then it kind of got out of hand, and I realized that I needed to make some major changes.
“I got involved in a recovery program. I was fortunate to have a lot of people who guided me and helped change the way I lived.
“For the past 23 years, through my work as a substance abuse counselor with the Houston Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, I have tried to provide an example of what is possible.”
