Shelter provides help for homeless families

“My favorite charity is Bay Area Homeless Services. We just had a fundraiser and raised enough money to build a new family center.
“At one time, I was president of the board for the shelter. It’s a great place if people are willing to live by the rules. You have a lot of homeless people who could live there, but they have to agree to make certain changes. You have to look for a job every day. You cannot use drugs. You cannot have any alcohol. And you have to live by a curfew. That really limits a lot of people. Still, many families have been helped by it.”
