Marriage withstands long life on the road

He came here in 1975 to do a six-month job, and he’s been here ever since.

“For years, I traveled all over the United States installing commercial windows and doors. Every three weeks, the company would fly my wife to wherever I was. I think that helped keep our marriage going strong. With me being on the road all the time, there was never a trust issue or anything like that.

“We fell in love and stayed together for 35 years. After I retired and came home, she got sick with breast cancer. They thought they had cured it, but then they found bone cancer. She suffered for almost 10 years. She died two years ago.”
