‘I know you don’t need drugs to have fun’

He finds that dealing with peer pressure can be challenging, especially when it involves drugs.

“We just had the last day of school. It’s all right, but it kind of sucks. I kind of like school. I like the friends there. I don’t like to be alone. I don’t know how to really socialize outside of school. It’s easier at school when you’re around people your own age.”

Do you have a core group of friends?
“I move from group to group, but I don’t really hang out with them outside of school. I know some of them do drugs, and I really don’t want to do that. The peer pressure is kind of hard, but I keep myself out of it. If they offer something to me, I just walk away or don’t talk to them at all.

“It’s hard when you get close to friends and then they try to offer you something. I just know you don’t need drugs to have fun, to have a good time.”
