Anastasia Bouloustra Presley is heartbroken about those impacted by Greece’s economic crisis.

“I was born in Greece and never really thought about living in America. I did want to visit other countries, but I never imagined I would be very far from my home. I was working in Mykonos when he came on holiday. That’s where we met. It was a feeling. You meet somebody and you know you’ll be with him your whole life. That feeling came true for me.”

What do you miss most about Greece?
“I left my parents. I am an only child. It gets harder as they get older. I am far away and thinking that if they get sick or something happens, I won’t be there with them. But we try to be as close as we can. We go see them at least twice a year.

“We try not to lose our roots. We taught our daughter both languages. Usually when people get together and they are from different countries, especially when Greeks come here, they forget their language. We are trying to keep our connections strong.”
