Vegan is also worried about the environment
“I was a senior in high school when I became a vegetarian, and then I became vegan.
“At first, I was just interested in losing weight. I was worried about my image. But then I started watching these documentaries.
“There’s one called Cowspiracy that looks at the impact of animal agriculture on the environment. It’s the number one reason for greenhouse gases. It causes more pollution than all of our transportation put together.
“A lot of people think being vegan is mainly about morals and stuff, what you’re inflicting on living creatures. But there’s this huge environmental aspect as well.
“Years ago I had this conversation with a friend when we were sitting down to a steak dinner. We were both saying that we could not understand how people could not eat meat. We agreed that we could never do that. But now, years later, when I’m so interested in what we put into our bodies, I can’t imagine myself ever eating meat again.”
