Out of prison, he’s looking for a break
“I just did five years in the penitentiary. I got out a few days ago. Now I’m on my hands and knees, asking grown men to please give my kids something to eat. I’m not feeling sorry for myself. I can go without. But I have a son who is 10 and a daughter who is 9. I’m going to try to do something for them before I go try to help myself.”
What’s your plan?
“I don’t want a handout. I want a job. I can do a little bit of everything. I’ve done welding, heat treating, pipefitting. I want to work.
“I thought life would break me, man, but it can’t break me. I wish I could tell you why. Things can get pretty discouraging, but I’m trying to stay strong.”
