Respect important part of his marriage
“My wife and I have been married for 37 years. We have five kids and 14 grandkids.”
How did you meet?
“At work. At first, she didn’t really believe I was her supervisor. I was in charge of a cafeteria at the time. Once she realized it was true, we went on from there. I proposed to her over a salad bar. It surprised her. She really couldn’t say anything at first, and then she started backing up and fell over a crate. As she was falling, she said yes.”
What’s the secret to your long marriage?
“Marriage is like a work in progress. The respect she gives me and the respect I give her, that takes time. ”
“Way back when, someone bet that we’d only stay married for six months. Well, here we are 37 years later, still going strong. I sure wish I could collect on that bet, especially with all that interest.”
