Children miss their dad after his death
Debbie Travis’ son, Chuck Dixon, had six children who continue thinking of him following his death at age 39.
“He loved his kids. I mean, he cried over them all of the time. He had six in all, including twin girls who were born shortly before he died.
“It was the most devastating for his oldest daughter, who is 19 now. They spent a lot of time together. He was like a best friend to her.
“Kids, no matter what their parents do, they still love you. She still drives around with a picture of her dad on the dash in her truck.
“I think of him all of the time. I realize that his story and his life are a jumbled-up mess. But during the good times, when he wasn’t on drugs, he was a good guy. He wasn’t just this street thug with no life. He was real personable. He had a lot of friends. Some of them tried to help him. But in the end, everything we all did just wasn’t enough.”
