She gets a kick out of tutoring young students
“When I started helping out early last school year, there was this little boy who was really struggling to read. He would read really slow. But we worked with him throughout the year. So by the time the year ended, he knew how to read much faster. He really caught on. Part of it was because we would get on him all the time and say, ‘OK, you have to read these three books or you won’t be able to gooutside to play.’ And he really liked to go outside. To see the progress that he made, I was so proud of him.
“There are so many career options, I’m just opening my mind to all the possibilities. I used to think I wanted to be a teacher, but now I’m kind of debating. I’m thinking of being a nurse or a pediatrician. All I know is I want to do something that involves kids. I especially like helping little kids. They’re so sweet. To me, they’re just so adorable.”
