Long-distance relationship works for nurse, doctor
“I’m a nurse anesthetist and my husband is a physician. We worked together for 20 years here. Then for the past 10 years I’ve worked in Houston, while he’s been in El Paso and now McAllen.
I’d like to work with him again. He likes to develop and build programs. He wants something that’s challenging. I also like stuff that’s challenging. We both like to work hard. I just started rattling the bushes with the recruiters, so we’ll see what happens.”
How has that long-distance relationship worked?
“It’s been good. I’m a professional and he’s a professional. I’m not a needy person. My need is more in developmental and directional things. Our three daughters are all very independent young women. I think we’ve done OK. The question is what we want to do next. I’m not sure where we’re going to end up. We’ll see.”
