Move helps open his eyes to different cultures

Tim Coleman, a Lee College basketball player, earned a scholarship to continue his career at University of Utah.

“When I came down here from Cincinnati it was the first time I’d been to Texas, and it was a big adjustment for me.

“The North and the South, they’re totally different environments. For one thing, I had never seen so many cultures and races of people. It made me open my eyes and realize there’s so much more to this world than just Ohio. There’s more than just me and the little world I grew up in.

“That’s probably one of the biggest things I’m taking away from my experience here. Plus, I’m graduating with an associate’s degree and getting the chance to go on and continue playing sports. It’s a dream come true, basically.”
